5 tips to Spring into Better Wellness

How are you doing right now? How did your first day of spring go? Are you developing feelings of stress, fear and isolation- these feeling are natural to face in these times when few matters are beyond our control. Spring has finally sprung and it’s the perfect time to focus on living a healthy lifestyle without leaving your house.

Here are the five tips for promoting a healthy spring –

Get adequate rest

Sleep greatly impacts how we look, feel and act on a daily basis, and can have a major influence on our overall quality of life. Strive for 6-8 hours of sleep every night. Sleep is just as important as healthy eating and exercise.

Wake up early and follow an exercise routine

Take good advantage of this season. You can opt for basic yoga exercises and meditation sessions. There are endless free virtual exercise resources. Download free fitness apps on your smartphone or tablet or visit YouTube and search for your favorite workout format: yoga, strength, dance, Pilates, Zumba or kickboxing.

Talk to someone

Listen to your emotions, noticing any anxiety, sadness, anger, or detachment. Technology plays a major role in connecting people all around the word. Create the magic of having a surprise conversation with someone you haven’t spoken to —someone whom you always wanted to reach out. This is the right time to reach out to your distant friends and family members. It’s easy to feel isolate but talking to someone would help if you are stuck alone at home.

Eat foods that pack a fight!

Eat green veggies (providing anti-inflammatory antioxidants) and vitamin C rich options available – oranges and bell peppers. Try to drink water with a squeeze of lemon. Stay hydrated!

Take up a hobby

This is a good time to invest in something you always wanted to do! Still have those old cardboards and craft supplies that you never finished! Gather your colorful supplies and spread happiness to everyone in the house!
